Saffron Cookies From Iran

Kids likes it, parents love it and its never enough to eat cookies and if the cookies are from Iran and that too Saffron Cookies mouth just dont stop watering. Here is one of my favourite recipes for making saffron cookies.

INGREDIENTS:

    1 cup butter ( 160 g)
    1/2 cup powdered sugar (58 g)
    1/2 tsp dissolved saffron in very hot water
    1 tsp water
    2 egg yolks
    2 cup flour (210 g)
    1/8 tsp salt
    2 soupsps marmalade powdered sugar for decoration

PREPARATION:
Using an electric mixer, beat the butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the egg yolks untill its fully dissolved and mixed.
Pour in the dissolved saffron in water.
Add the flour and salt gradually until the dough is no longer sticky.
Make small balls from the dough and arrange them on a baking sheet one by one.
Make a hollow on top of each cookie with a kebab stick.

Bake in a preheted oven, 350 degrees Fahrenheit on the middle shelf for 15 minutes. Take out of the oven .

Ater cooling, turn around into powdered sugar.decorate with marmalade.

Now its time to invite kids on the table to enjoy it with the whole family.
